SAP Basis in the overall system
With the growth of the company also came extensions and the need for a whole SAP Basis team. Basically, it is a condition that occurs sooner or later in any organization that maintains SAP systems.
The entry screen gives a brief overview of the status of the last queued. In case of incomplete support packages, the last (aborted) step of the SPAM will be displayed. System: Check the correct function of the transport tools using Tool Transport Tool. Make sure there is enough space (the size of the OCS files multiplied by 2) in the transport directory (see the R/3 profile parameter DIR_TRANS with the AL11 transaction or the SE38 transaction and the report RSPARAM). Make sure that there is enough space, especially in the subdirectories trans/EPS/in and trans/data. Use the latest SPAM update. Verify that the SPAM update offered in the SAPNet - R/3 frontend or the SAPNet - Web Frontend is newer than the one available in your system. We recommend that you always run the latest SPAM update first [page 14] to avoid problems when playing. The insertion of a SPAM update is analogous to the insertion of support packages. There must be no incomplete support packages in your system. To do this, under Folder in the SPAM, select Aborted Support. Packages and select View. Support packages should not be displayed. The status light should be green. If not, view the detailed status and log information for all support packages in the system. Select Jump Status or Jump Log. The dataowner should be the adm of the target system, which you can change (in the Unix console) with "chown adm K12345.DEV" (respectively R12345.DEV for the data file). To change the access permissions, you can use the command "chmod 664 K12345.DEV". Attach transport jobs in the SAP system Once this has been done, you can attach the transport orders in your SAP system to the import queue. This is done by using the STMS -> Import Overview (F5) to display the import queues. Select the import queue of the target system with a double click. After that, you will receive a pop-up under "Additions"->"More orders"->"Attach", which you can use to attach the transport orders to the import queue. In the pop-up you have to name the exact transport order. The correct name for this is as follows: The first three characters are the file extension of the two files you copied into the transport directory. The last characters consist of the file name of the cofiles file. In our example transport the transport would be called "DEVK12345" (deriving from the cofiles file K12345.DEV) This should now return a positive message from SAP and the transport is attached to the import queue. Now you can import this transport into the system just like any ordinary transport order.
