Proof of concept, so that you can gain initial experience
The entry screen gives a brief overview of the status of the last queued. In case of incomplete support packages, the last (aborted) step of the SPAM will be displayed. System: Check the correct function of the transport tools using Tool Transport Tool. Make sure there is enough space (the size of the OCS files multiplied by 2) in the transport directory (see the R/3 profile parameter DIR_TRANS with the AL11 transaction or the SE38 transaction and the report RSPARAM). Make sure that there is enough space, especially in the subdirectories trans/EPS/in and trans/data. Use the latest SPAM update. Verify that the SPAM update offered in the SAPNet - R/3 frontend or the SAPNet - Web Frontend is newer than the one available in your system. You can see the version of the SPAM update available in your system in the title bar of the SPAM image. We recommend that you always run the latest SPAM update first [page 14] to avoid problems when playing. The insertion of a SPAM update is analogous to the insertion of support packages. There must be no incomplete support packages in your system. To do this, under Folder in the SPAM, select Aborted Support. Packages and select View. Support packages should not be displayed. The status light should be green. If not, view the detailed status and log information for all support packages in the system. Select Jump Status or Jump Log. To display custom tiles based on catalogues and groups when the launchpad starts, permissions are placed in the menu of the underlying role. This makes it possible to ensure that every user on the launchpad can only see and open their applications. Open Launchpad permissions SAP provides default roles for opening the Fiori Launchpad. This distinguishes between the Fiori permissions to start the launchpad normally and to manage the user interface.
Backup concept for the Azure or AWS cloud
If your system is already above SAP NetWeaver Release 7.0, then you must either import SAP Note 1731549 or a corresponding Support Package. Afterwards, when creating new users, it is no longer possible to assign user names that are only composed of variants of spaces or other invisible special characters. Important: Changes to already existing users with these names or their deletion option are not affected by this! The SAP Note also adds the customizing switch BNAME_RESTRICT, whereupon you can control yourself whether alternative spaces are allowed to appear in certain places in the user name. For this, the following values must be set in the customizing table PRGN_CUST: NO = The alternative spaces are still allowed in the user name. ALL = The character set is reduced to a defined range, excluding certain special characters because they have specific meanings in certain operating systems or databases. This predefined character set is: ABCDEFGHIJKLNMOPQRSTUVWXYZ_0123456789,;-§&()={[]}+#. FME = The letters F, M and E stand for Front, Middle and End. With an 'X' in this three-digit switch value you can now explicitly specify at which position in the user name no wide spaces and control characters may occur. All combinations are possible, e.g.: XME = None of these special characters may occur at the BEGINNING of the user name. XMX = In the user name none of these special characters may occur at the BEGINNING and at the END. FME = One of these special characters may occur at any position in the user name (this corresponds to the default setting, i.e. as if no entry was maintained in PRGN_CUST for the switch). SAP recommends the use of the value ALL.

If you now want to change the permission data, you will be asked for values for the appropriate organisation levels. First enter a tilde (~) and define the value later in the derived roles. Maintain the permissions you want and then generate the master role. Adding the organisational level to the master role Step 2: Define derived roles Create derived roles Assign the master role After you have created the master role, it is the derived roles that are in the process. To do this, re-enter a suitable role name via the PFCG. In our example, it is called "findepartment_d01". For a better overview, it is usually useful to name and number the derivatives after the master roles. You can also define the roles according to a different scheme. After you have created the role, you must then enter the master role in the Derive from Role field in the Description tab. Confirm the Auto Enquiries. Customise the Organisation Levels Now go to the "Menu" tab. There you can see that the data from the master role was automatically copied. Since the role has not yet been generated, the Permissions tab is currently highlighted in red. Therefore, call "Change Permissions Data". The first call should automatically open a dialogue to maintain the organisational levels, as they are still empty. If this is not the case, or if you would like to adjust the organisational levels again in a later case, you can also access them via the button Ordende (see screenshot). If everything worked well, you can now see that the permissions were also automatically taken from the master role. If you generate the role, the permission tab will also appear green. Congratulations, you have successfully created a derived role! Repeat step 2 with the additional derivatives to adjust the organisation levels accordingly.
