Security Automation for HR Authorizations
Security notes correct vulnerabilities in SAP standard software that can be exploited internally or externally. Use the System Recommendations application to keep your systems up to date. SAP software is subject to high quality assurance standards - however, security vulnerabilities may occur in the code. These vulnerabilities can, in the worst case scenario, open the door to external and internal intruders. It is not difficult to find guidance on exploiting these vulnerabilities in relevant internet forums. A permission concept is only as good as the code that performs the permission checks. If no permission check occurs in your code, the permission concept cannot restrict access. For these reasons, SAP has introduced Security Patch Day (every other Tuesday of the month), which will allow you to better plan for implementing the security advisories. In addition, you can use the System Recommendations application in the SAP Solution Manager to get a detailed, cross-system overview of the security advice you need. The system status and the SAP hints already implemented are taken into account. With this support, ensure that your system landscape is at the current security level.
A new transaction has been added to evaluate the system trace only for permission checks, which you can call STAUTHTRACE using the transaction and insert via the respective support package named in SAP Note 1603756. This is a short-term trace that can only be used as a permission trace on the current application server and clients. In the basic functions, it is identical to the system trace in transaction ST01; Unlike the system trace, however, only permission checks can be recorded and evaluated here. You can limit the recording to a specific user. You can also use the trace to search only for permission errors. The evaluation is similar to the evaluation of the system trace in the transaction ST01. In transaction STAUTHTRACE, however, you can also evaluate for specific authorization objects or for specific permission check return codes (i.e. after positive or negative permission checks). You can also filter multiple entries.

This list in the AGR_1252 table contains both the organisational fields that are shipped in the standard and the fields that you have collected for organisational fields. Unfortunately, the list does not indicate what kind of organisation field it is. But you can find out: Open the PFCG_ORGFIELD_DELETE programme via transaction SA38. The Organisation Level Value Helper (Orgebene) provides a list of all customer-specific organisation fields, because only these can be converted back to normal Permissions Object Fields. Note the implications if you want to actually run this programme.
To store all the information on the subject of SAP - and others - in a knowledge database, Scribble Papers is suitable.
Create a message to be displayed to the user when permissions checks fail. The tests in this User-Exit are relatively free. This allows you to read table entries, store data from the ABAP application's memory, or read data that is already there. However, you are limited by the interface parameters of the application. In our example, these are the BKPF and BSEG structures and the system variables. If the information from the interface parameters is not sufficient for the test, you can use your programming skills and knowledge about the interdependencies of substitution and validation in finance to find additional data. The following coding allows you to identify the selected offset document entries that you can find in the POSTAB table (with the RFOPS structure) in the SAPMF05A programme. This way you can find many additional data. It is important that the supporting programme processes the User-Exits.
With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you can automate the assignment of roles after a go-live.
What's New from System Trace for Permissions! Here, features have been added that make recording and role maintenance much easier.
If you use configuration validation, we still recommend that you use the AGS Security Services, such as the EarlyWatch Alerts and SAP Security Optimisation Services, which we describe in Tip 93, "AGS Security Services." SAP keeps the specifications and recommendations in the AGS Security Services up to date and adapts them to new attack methods and security specifications.
