Understanding SAP HANA Permissions Tests
Due to the complexity of an SAP® authorization concept, it is necessary that all essential aspects are set down in a written documented authorization concept. This should describe the essential processes, but also how to handle the assignment of authorizations via roles. In particular, the nomenclature of specially created roles must be clearly defined. It should therefore be checked whether all changes since the last audit have been documented in the written authorization concept. After all, this document serves the auditor as a template for the so-called target/actual comparison. This means that the auditor compares the document with the actual status in the SAP® system for the main topics relevant to the audit. Any discrepancy can lead to a finding that must be avoided.
Check to see if there are any corrective recommendations to follow for your release. We recommend that you run the SU24_AUTO_REPAIR correction report before executing the transaction SU25 (see tip 38, "Use the SU22 and SU24 transactions correctly"). If necessary, run this report in the old lease, but in any case before importing the new proposal values. Use the test mode of the report to look at possible corrections in advance. In addition, to ensure that you do not lose information with your upgrade work, you can write and release the data from the SU24 transaction on step 3 (customer table transport) in the SU25 transaction to a transport order. This way, a backup of your SU24 data is made. Now the upgrade work can begin. Warning: Do not perform step 1 (customer tables were initially filled), because this overwrites the USOBT_C and USOBX_C customer tables, i.e. the SU24 data, completely with the SAP suggestion values. However, you want to keep your SU24 data and add to the proposed changes for the new release!
What to do when the auditor comes - Part 2: Authorizations and parameters
If you only want to translate the description of the role, it is recommended to record the PFCG transaction and to change the source language of the role using the Z_ROLE_SET_MASTERLANG report before the LSMW script runs through. The report on how to change the source language can be found in SAP Note 854311. Similarly, you can use the SECATT (Extended Computer Aided Test Tool, eCATT) transaction to perform the translation instead of the LSMW transaction.
The freeware Scribble Papers is a "note box" in which all kinds of data can be stored. It takes in typed texts as well as graphics and entire documents. The data is then organised in folders and pages.
If you use change request management in SAP Solution Manager, you can use the system recommendations in an integrated way. To do this, create an amendment in the system recommendations for the SAP hints to be implemented. To access the system recommendations, you must have permission for the SM_FUNCS object (ACTVT = 03; SM_APPL = SYSTEM_ REC; SM_FUNC =
, such as SECURITY).
During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
If changes to the roll menu are necessary, however, you must first make them in the individual rolls and then remix them in the roll roll (using the Mix button, see figure next page above).
In addition, uniform naming conventions should be used because, on the one hand, many things cannot be changed after the initial naming and, on the other hand, this ensures searchability in the SAP system.
